Welcome to the Coral Gables Police Ski Charities Team web site!
Since 2000, members of the Coral Gables Police Ski Charities Team have competed in police winter skiing events around the USA. In the beginning members competed annually in the International Police Winter Games at great ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area. Since 2002, the team has competed in the North American Police Ski Championships (NAPSC). This organization is dedicated to supporting the winter ski programs of Special Olympics and since the inceptions of NAPSC; they have donated almost $700,000.00 for the Special Olympic athletes.
In late 2007, Coral Gables Police Ski Charities, Inc. was formed as a 501 C-3 charitable organization in order to raise money and help all those in need. In 2007, the team donated $10,000.00 to NAPSC and was awarded the NAPSC donation award. In 2008, the team was again awarded the top prize for fundraising by NAPSC with a donation of $10,001.00 earmarked for Special Olympics. In March of 2009, the team made its largest donation to date of $11,000.00 to NAPSC, with the money earmarked again for Special Olympics.
2010 was another great year and with the tremendous help of our sponsors the team was able to make another $10,000.00 donation to NAPSC. With our help as the leading fundraiser for the 4th year in a row, NAPSC was able donate over $34,000 to Special Olympics. This brings their donations over the past 21 years to almost $700,000.00
Coral Gables Police Charities, Inc. continues to support the Police Officer Assistance Trust (POAT) and also served as a proud sponsor of the 2010 Law Enforcement Officers Foundation (LEO) annual awards black tie gala. These organizations support fellow law enforcement officers in need.
Coral Gables Police Ski Charities, Inc. will always assist local charities, and school safety patrol programs.
The Coral Gables Police Ski Team will once again be competing at the North American Ski Championships in Snowmass, Colorado beginning March 12, 2011 through March 19, 2011
